Can't Install VSTs

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello! I'm just getting a hang of getting samples into LMMS. However, I tried to install the Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra VST, and a Horror Box VST, but it's as if the program doesn't recognize the .dll file. I downloaded Sforzando and tried Vestige, but it doesn't work. The file has .mse instruments.

When I did de unrar, I didn't move these files or changed them anywhere. I don't know what to do anymore, I couldn't find any info on the internet, please help! (I have Windows 10)

How do I correctly install it? (I also changed the file paths to the place where I keep these files).

Ok, win10 is fully supported, so its either those specific VSTs that has problems, or you have placed the dlls in a different folder, than you have in your Settings

Eg:

Check that first!
Then Lets test if VST works at all
You should try MDA-Piano http://mda.smartelectronix.com/synths.htm
It is very small in size, and you can just copy it to your folder. -Eg NO installation! Further its a quite good piano-instrument, so it is a win win

If this is no go, we also need to know
* OS sub-version
* lmms version
Hi, I'm also facing the same issue. Even loading mda Piano.dll it says that it could not be loaded for some reason.

I'm running Windows 10 and LMMS 1.1.3
I have downloaded the MDA piano, which sounds great and works great as well! :)

So I believe VSTs do work!

Yet, the ones I downloaded don't.

Here's the file directory (without piano, but it is in the same folder):

And these are my settings, which are the same:

The error, however, appears as:
"The VST-plugin C:/Program Files (x86)/LMMS/VST/Sonatina Orchestra.dll could not be loaded for some reason."

I have the .dll, the difference is that Sonatina Orchestra has a .dll file plus an "instruments" folder which looks like this (all of the instruments have .mse in the end):

I have LMMS 1.3.3 and a 64 bits Dell computer with Windows 10 Pro (version 1803)

Only recently, there was an update of win10, that seams to mess up some installs of win10 with lmms 1.1.3

Both of you are using 1.1.3, and i hope upgrading will fix it for you both!
There is however some things to remember, when using win10:
* Are you installing as admin? Do! -and grant all users access!
* Do you install inside your windows-folder? Dont!

Then to the update:
Always backup your own stuff, then uninstall lmms completely, including the config dot-file:
Read:

I recommend 1.2.0 RC5 for win10:
Get it here for 32 bit
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... -win32.exe

Here for 64 bit:
https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/releases/d ... -win64.exe

Let us know how it went! We normally solves 'all'.. :'p

Besides all that, since you also are new here randomph

Thanks a lot! It seems then that it is an OS problem, that's a shame, there are amazing plugins and this makes you unable to use them! I'll upgrade LMMS, and I hope everything will work fine afterwards :) Thank you!!
