That depends on what you like the most. Sound-Technically there is no benefits /difference. Imo however there are significant difference in workflow.

Bear is right.
Normally, beats created with drum, snare and hi hat percussion sounds,
are placed in the beat and bass editor.
And melodies, are placed in the song editor.

But I don't always do that.
In some of my projects, I put everything, in the song editor.
