This is so strange. Why would someone do this to me? I have a feeling that this is some bot or something patrolling both Reddit and this forum.

Hum,
maxdenton has been registered since August 31, 2018 and has only written one message (the one you mention).
Strangely, the links in his signature are not related to the music.
It's quite painful to see that I sometimes respond to bots or something like that.

Those links are weird yes.
I compared them to the links, I get when I google I tunes and acrobat reader.
Really different, not even close. I did of course not try to download anything. I am not that brave. (on Linux )

I have the impression that there are many false accounts in recent days.
They are all similar:
- often off-topic content
- presence of links to third party sites generally unrelated to music
One of these accounts contained a link to a Soundcloud account. I contacted the person on Soundcloud and asked him if he had written on the forum. He told me no (then he reported this here on the forum).
Strange.

Yeah, I've been noticing that for a while too.
I myself a while ago, contacted one of the soundcloud musicians, who goes by
the name
Lenoquo and asked him, if he joined and posted on this forum.
This is the soundcloud tune, that I posted on.

I'll check back on soundcloud, to see what he says. Hopefully, he responds.
