Has anyone found a good application of Barry's Satan Maximi

I don't know how anyone could possibly use it. It seems like it's only purpose is to make things unlistenable, but there must be some kind of use for it, or it wouldn't have been included in LMMS

:p well it does 2 things:
1) It amplifies the wave -That is actually not wanted...
2) It alter inclining of the wave. You can best see this effect in a spectrometer, if you play a pure sine,
Ofcause you see the expected soft sine-pattern
Now decrease the knee-value in the maximizer.
Gradually the soft sine, will morph into a square'ish shape.
The output is 'sharper', more 'present' and somewhat distorted too.
Can be used with hard-rock guitars, but also with sound-effects, where you want more 'harshness' / overdrive

I've found it to be useful in combination with the Kicker plugin. It can make the kicks have a harsher sound and in some cases completely change the sound all together.
