Is there an easy way to have note priority, where a note is replaced by a new note played?

Say I had high release on an instrument, I'd want the next note played to mute the release of that last note, overwrite it.

It will come, because it has been discussed and there was consensus for a 'cut-yourself' method. Not scheduled.
