Change time signatures!!

I'm kinda new to lmms (and produktion and writing in general) and was wondering how to properly do measure changes. I wanna do a song where the time signature changes from 5/8 to 7/8 but I have so far only been able to do this using automation tracks wich causes everything to shift in the Song-Editor so you can never properly see what bar you are realy in and you also can't loop the parts on their own and end up with chunks of track that "change" lenght or seem to overlap dispite me not wanting that
