I'm not sure if I'm just overlooking something or if this is an inherent limitation of LMMS.
What I would like to do, is record a sequence with my MIDI controller and simultaneously tweak knobs on the fly to adjust filter, LFO speed, oscillator mix, etc.
I know these controls can be changed during the song using Automation Editor. However this is a bit tedious and doesn't help the creative process IMHO. It would be very helpful to be able to just jam out in realtime and have LMMS accurately capture what I'm hearing, without the need to go back afterwards and try to recreate my knob twiddling with Automation Editor.

I can play my keyboard and record the sequence using the Record button of Piano Roll Editor. I guess what I'm asking, is whether there is an equivalent "record" feature for automation tracks, or some other tool which would achieve this.
If it matters, I'm mostly using synth1 in VeSTige with a hardware MIDI controller, and connecting knobs to select controls via VeSTige settings.
