new to the daw thing. is there a way to expand the sf2 window like to see the whole keyboard??

I believe you are thinking about the keyboard on the preset of the SF2 -Eg :

No, the Preset-UI can not be expanded. You will however be able to play all notes on either your PC-keyboard, or even better MIDI-kb, when you have a connected Preset focused.
Obs the green 'marker' at A4. That is named the Base-note, and if you move that to a different octave, the octaves will shift on your keyboard. I actually think that thats what you want
