Hello Internet,
Im new to this forum and lmms, I have a keyboard with various built-in sounds. Is there a way to record a melody with these sounds via MIDI?

Does your keyboard have a usb or MIDI connector somewhere?

Best is to google the make/model and check the docs. RTFM, as they say... but *I* won't say that, because I don't RTFM either, except as a VERY last resort.

Yes, it has both midi and usb. I have the midi cable but not the knowledge, the manuel is useless and google doesent help, thats why I ask here if its even possible to do so with midi

No, LMMS cant record sound at all. You will need to record with f.i. Audacity, and then import the recorded sound in either AudioFileProcessor (AFP) -meant for smaller recordings & samples, or to Sample-Track -Hold up to 15 mins of recording, if you have RAM for it

But what about your midi-keyboard? Have you had success in connecting that to LMMS?
