I was working on my first song for 2 days. I had no idea what the .bak was, so i changed it to mmpz. Now i can't open it, its 0 bytes and i get an error message that says "the file [my song] seems to contain errors and therefore can't be loaded"
Any help would be appreciated

In explorer? That should not harm the file, but the important thing to find here is your real project-file!
What name did you use inside LMMS as you saved your project?
If you manually made a overwriting of the real project, eg ignored the windows-warning "a file with that name exists, do you want to overwrite it"
IF you said 'Yes', then the real project is ofcause destroyed, but if you have not done that, then the real project must be in a different folder on your pc
Default it should be in your LMMS-Working Directory that you have defined in Settings

Search for it there!

Try changing it to mmp instead. Use a new unique name when trying this. (newname.mmp)
