Dude! Thanks for telling me that.Gps wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 11:13 amDaft punk makes disco or at least tracks that are very close to disco, so you're hearing that right.
Its 70 ties music.
The original version of thinking of you ( disco ):

vs the house version.

Notice the house version to be more loop like, a bit faster and the percussion to be louder.
Thinking of you is from the famous Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards.
When I listened to it, I was saying to myself, where the heck did I hear that Thinking of you song before. And then you posted the 70's version, and I remembered the tune.
Ahhhh.Gps wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 11:13 am

The loop is from the break of a track made by Nile Rodgers for Chic.
Chic - good Times. They did not sample it, the sugar hill gang had their bassplayer play that bassline.
And gut sued over it, but here are friends now.
They even performed together:

1min 30 the break, were the rappers join.
I am a big fan of Nile Rodgers, but you might have guessed that already.
I love Funk Disco, so I do like Daft punk - get lucky.
I always wondered, "why the heck does the music in sugar hill gangs song, and that chic good times song, sound so similar?" So your answer, answers a question I was wondering for a long time now.
Wait, one of them sued and now they're friends? Lol!
Yeah. Unfortunately, I am one of those youngish people, who had no idea who Nile Rodgers is. But I did hear the name a few times though.
It makes sense that you like Daft Punk, because their music sounds like good ol' funk and disco.
And yeah, Daft Punk is a nice music group. I like their one more time song too.
