i can guess which chord is playing or use my ear. but can you label sections i'm guessing not

also people should be using g tune to make sure there vst are all tuned to the same pitch

Because you said 'chords', i guess you are talking about 'labels' in piano-roll(?)
No you dont have other options for that, than writing the progression down in the project-notes
In song-editor, i often use a percussion-track for setting coloured blocks, and naming vertically. I made a video on that :

I've come up with a terribly inelegant kludge that accomplishes just this:



The "notes" that correspond to the label, as you may have noticed, have had their velocities zeroed.
