Random rythms in piano roll when recording with midi-pads

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi musikbear (since you're probably the only person who will respond),

I'm using the shortcircuit VST to map specific .wav files to notes like C4, C#4, D4 etc. which I can then control with my Arturia Keylab 49. While my keyboard has keys (of course) which I could also control the samples with, the samples are drum samples and I like using the 8 pads which are part of the controller. I am able to fully control the sounds I mapped - everything was going perfectly, not much latency, I could tap out a beat.

But when I go to the piano-roll to record my beat, (again, the input is recognized - when I tap the buttons, the keys in the piano-roll even light up) it simply did not record. The piano keys did record note events, but the pads sadly did nothing. Right before posting this, I checked again and the behavior changed - now, when I record, it records at the right note but at a completely random rhythm. That's right, when I press the pad OR the piano keys, the note will appear nowhere near the timeline marker - it will sometimes even appear before other notes I already played!

I've restarted LMMS / unplugged the MIDI / switched the instrument the MIDI is an input to / made a new beat/bassline. Any ideas? Thank you so much.
Hi

I ve read overthere many times that drumpads dont work with lmms, sadly..

This said I have akai mpd so i will give it a try and tell you if that works @ home.

A bientot!
Well I gave it a try and it worked fine.

Setup:
Akai mpd drumpad linked to a carlarack track and in carla the avldrum plugin with a focusrite soundcard running at 1.5ms latency in lmms.

Whats your soundcard?

It may be too much layency on rec or maybe ghost double tap due to the pads?

I cant explain how your notes ends up before they are played, thats just ...weird
There was a test-version around 1.0, that had next to random note-capture, but i hope you are using official 1.2.1(?)
The apparently of-postion-notes, i can explain.
When you capture notes, you should use 1/192 as Quantification in piano-roll.
If you use a higher value, then the notes will snap-in at 'close' to where you made the event, but it will not be precise. Try 1/192, and if thats not better, then i fear it has to do with the pads, and lmms recognizing the events.
Let us know the outcome :)
