So, I recently got lmms and a free but (moderately) powerful plugin for editing samples would be very useful

I believe you actually propose an enhancement for lmms?
Downstream it will come, but for now we recommend Audacity
It is free, solid and well maintained

Samplers are essential in my daily producer workflow. I recommend investing in at least one sampler.

True, but most here like to use free-ware
I made a video on how to use Sitala as a afair 12 slot sampler, and that works fine in windows. I have not tried any other OS'
