Akai mpx8

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello good people of LMMS!

Could anyone assist me with this? I have received as a gift an Akai mpx8 sampler and I would like to record my sessions. As you know the sampler is a standalone and you have to have an SD card with the loops, sound clips and whatnots. As I am a total beginner at this I kindly ask for your help.

Is it possible to record in LMMS the sounds I am playing on the sampler? And if so, how? It connects via USB to my PC, but I could only use ot as a MIDI controller. It has MIDI in and out ports, I'm guessing the sollution is there, I just don't know how.

Please help.

Have a great day! :D

No. Lmms has no sound-recording. you need to use an other program that can record incoming signals
I would think Audacity can
It is free, solid and well maintained
We dont hesitate to recommend it :

You should be able to capture the press-on-the-pads events in lmms as time-line-'notes'.
I say 'should' because there has previously ben mixed reports about success with drumpads, some work, some does not
We have a couple of tutorials for installing MIDI-hardware.
It would be best if you tryout the one for 'other-midi-hw, and then report back, if you have issues:

Wow thank you!

I actually use Audacity quite often to record mixing sessions. Somehow it never occured to me that I can use it for this as well. Should work tho.

I'll check the tutorials.

Have an amazing weekend!

Cheers!
