Channels not working?

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hey all, I'm having some issues with LMMS. Let's get straight to it:

First of all, I'd like to point out that I'm not using external MIDI instruments for recording my notes, all the work is done within the program.

Now, what's happening is that when I make a MIDI with SF2 Player tracks, it works flawlessly in LMMS, but after exporting it and playing it the only instrument played is the one from the very first track. What could it be?

I'm pretty sure this is related to MIDI channels, which I couldn't get to identify yet. I'd also like to know how to identify and change them.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hey all,
Hi, Welcome to the Forum Civic !

-A few rules and useful forum instructions

One thing that could cause this is that the missing tracks are not enabled. Are the track-button diodes lit,
Image
when you export?
Also! If any track-button is lit red then only that one will be exported

Secondly, i need to know, if you have imported a MIDI-file, or if you have created midi-notes in piano-roll. Some midi-files are flawed
I'm pretty sure this is related to MIDI channels,
No i doubt that. Midi-channels are realy only important if you connect an external MIDI-keyboard
which I couldn't get to identify yet. I'd also like to know how to identify and change them.
MIDI-channel settings for an instrument is on the instrument UIs MIDI-tab:
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=In ... e_MIDI_tab
But that is only relevant with MIDI-hardware.
How to connect, you can read here:
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=Using_MIDI

Also: please post your:
* Name of your Operative System (Windows/ Linux/ Mac) And subtype ('Home' 'Mint' '10.13' aso)
* lmms version
* lmms sound device chosen
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)

As a test open the
projects\demos\Greippi - Krem Kaakkuja (Second
Flight Remix).mmpz
and export that

Let us know the outcome :)
Hey there, thanks for the quick response.

* Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium
* LMMS version 1.2.1
* I did a quick search around LMMS's settings but couldn't find anything about sound device, where do I find it?
* 8Gb RAM,
Not sure about soundcard (I'm using a laptop), I've found two entries: Realtek High Definition Audio and Intel Display Audio (the latter is apparently used for HDMI which I've never used).
Other specs:
CPU: Intel Core i3-350M at 2.26GHz
Graphics: NVidia GeForce GT 325M with 1Gb VRAM
HDD: 320Gb

I should point out that I'm exporting the file as a MIDI, since I'm making a song to use in a game, and I should also point out that the game has a little restriction: Channel 10 is for Drums only, and Drums only work in that channel, which is why I'd like to know how to see and change the channel numbers.

As for the tracks, they are all enabled, and actually work in the exported song, but every single instrument is replaced with Piano 1 (the first bank), notes play with their corresponding tone and at their corresponding time, but they're all Piano 1.

To make this MIDI I imported one I got from the same game I mentioned early and used it as a base, replacing and adding notes with Piano Roll, for this is my first time using this kind of software.

I tried the test project you've told me, and in LMMS I can't hear anything from the song, but when exported it works, but I think it suffers the same problem. Just in case I tried Farbro-Tectonic and I could effectively prove that it has the same problem: all instruments are Piano 1.

With all this, I think we may be getting somewhere. How should I proceed?

Thanks for replying.

Yep ;P That you should :P
Sorry, but midi Export is flawed. It is exactly as you said, only one channel is exported
Oh, now I see. What a shame. Hopefully it will be fixed for a future update?

Thanks for your support.
