Split a Song in Two

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello everyone,

Thanks for having me.

So I created one long song that I want split into two songs. Initially, I exported the whole WAV file, brought it into Audacity, and split it in two there; however, I'm worried doing so alters the songs in any way (compresses them inadvertently, etc).

Is there a way to export the first half of a song in lmms, and then the second half, much like in something like Adobe Premiere where you export a range of a project (30 seconds to 1:21, or something of the sort)?

If not, does anyone know if splitting a wav file and exporting from different software will do anything to my file?

Thanks!

Yes. Independent of your export format you can in song-editor use the Loop-markers,
https://lmms.io//wiki/index.php?title=S ... op-control
to 'isolate'/ or select any part of the project.
In the export-dialog, you then choose Export-between-loop-markes
That will make LMMS only export all parts that is under the green balk in the top.
You can use automation to fade in or out.
(Actually splitting is extremely cumbersome and takes a lot of work -Split will come)
