Problem with some downloaded plugins: they don't play

Hi, I have a problem. I tried to download VST plugins from external software. I have tried with two types of 808 downloaded from different sites.
In the beginning they work well. Then, after closing and reopening LMMS, both do not work, or better: if I try to use the piano roll they do not emit any sound except a horrible distorted noise or an annoying hiss, even if the plugin interface is open.
Thanks in advance and I hope you have a solution.
P.S. not with all plugins even external it happens

To me it sounds like you are on an old version(?)
could you please post your:
* Name of your
Operative System (Windows/ Linux/ Mac) And subtype ('Home' 'Mint' '10.13' aso)
* lmms
version
* lmms
sound device chosen
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
* VST involved & link to a download for this VST

You're using a very old version of LMMS.
Back up you're project in the project folder then install the latest version of LMMS and try again.

Depending on you're windows version and you're hardware, you want the 32 bit or the 64 bit version.

At the moment it seems to work well but it is still early to say this ...
