[Solved] Audio File Processor: no dynamic controls

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi there,
I've been learning LMMS via wiki, forums and tutorials in youtube and it has been fantastic on resolving all my questions. Yet this one is resisting me:

Say I want to make a sound that fades in (I rise the vol from 0 to 100%).
I upload the sound to an Audio File Processor (AFP). Then I tie a controller to the volume knob of this AFP.
I see the knob moving based on the properties I give in the controller controls. So far, so good.
But when I play the sound in AFP the volume knob freezes for the duration of the sound, wherever it was sitting when I play the sound (it doesn't matter if I play the sound via piano roll, or by hitting the key or click with the mouse in the little keyboard of AFS). So the volume might be anywhere between 0% and 100%, but it won't change for the duration of the sound.
This is not what I am expecting the controller to do.

Why is the controller freezing while the sound is playing?
If it's always going to freeze, I don't fully understand the purpose of the controller rack.

Can you help me here?

I think you mean an LFO in the controller-rack(?)
-and unfortunately you are correct
LMMS only have pr-time-envelopes. What you want is pr-note-envelopes, but there is no option for that, yet.
To achieve a raise in volume/note in AFP, you need to automate each event.
You can get pr-note envelopes in VSTs
I demonstrate how here in Synth1

OK that is clear, thanks!
