Let me preface this by stating I'm pretty new to LMMS and have a very limited understanding of automation in general.
I'm working exclusively with SoundFonts because creating my own sounds is beyond me at the moment and I just want to jump into creating music.
My current objective is to alternate the fading between individual timpani hits, preferably on the same track.
The only workaround I can think of is creating an entirely separate track for each note and controlling the fade on their respective tracks thereby creating an excessive number of tracks for a single instrument. Highly inconvenient but not undoable.
I am also completely unable to create note slides with automation. The only thing I can get it do do is change the pitch of the entire note by placing a "node?" at the very beginning. Any additional added nodes produce absolutely no effect.
So I have 2 questions:
1) What is automation capable of aside from pitch shift?
2) Can I even use automation on a SoundFonts. If not, is there an effect that I could use to manage fade, control volume, and gradually alter the pitch of a single note without making adjustments for each individual note?
