How to manage the length of an imported track.

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello everybody,
I'm pretty sure that this topic what already brought, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere.
I've imported a beat into LMMS, but I can only modify its length at the end, I can't figure a way to modify the start of it.
Thank you!

Hello everybody,
Hi, Welcome to the Forum Aas !
Here are all important links:

way to modify the start of imported MIDI-notes .
That is correct! You cant from inside song-editor, and you should in fact not be able to stretch it length either..
The fact that you do that indicates that you are using beat&bass-editor for music-notes. That IS possible, but it is not intended!
In LMMS we use:
* song-editor for instruments-notes
* beat&bass-editor for percussion
That is a different kind of workflow, than in FLstudio amo, but we find more benefits in our design :)
If you watch this:

-you can learn how to do both, in best way in lmms.

Back to your Question
You insert notes infront of existing notes inside piano-roll!
* Move your play-head to 0.0
* Hold shift and tab on INSERT-key
All notes will move to a later position
If you tab DEL the notes moves the other way

You have a beat in the Sample Track. You can't modify the starting point in the Sample Track on version 1.2 and earlier. It may be implemented in master or there is code suggested that hasn't made it into lmms yet. This will surely be implemented to lmms-1.3.
To work around this you need to open it in the Audio File Processor (the first plugin in the menu) in which you can change start, stop and loop points.
Oh.. If your imported beat is a Sample, then you go with Zonkmachine, If your import is a MIDI, then my suggestion should work.
You are welcome anywitch :p
