My computer:
Windows Vista Home Edition Service Pack 1
Pentium Dual Cove E5300@2.6 GHz
3 GB RAM
32 bit operation system
LMMS installed: 1.1.3, 32 bit
Yes, installer succeeded! However, when I read the documentation and tried to follow the instruction to see what synth1 would do, I couldn't install it, because it said that the set up information was not found. It added that if I had the file reg2ini, ran it as administrator to execute it, which I DID. Nonetheless, still failed.
LMMS never crashes on start-up, but does each time for sure when I click on Projects/Recently Opened project! Although I did not use anything that's associated with VST plug-in, the project was saved with the plug-in there.
I had not used any waveform or midi yet. Thus, I was trying to see if I could as Mrfriendson suggested now by import a mid file, yet LMMS warned me that I did not have the specified plug-in which was not manufactured installed already. Anyhow, I just couldn't hear the sound, yet I could see that it was working. Also, I did save this midi file as a project. I closed the LMMS entirely and reopened it to see if I could open this project up. It did, yet it just said that the plug-in couldn't be loaded, which I understood. After all, I don't have the plug-in installed. So....... it seems that MY external VST plug-in in LMMS is the cause for crashing the program.....
I just saved a project successfully by using only the factory preset sound. I could export it successfully to a wav file too. BTW, how do I export a midi file. Because if my own external vst won't work with LMMS, I am thinking to create music in LMMS by using whatever the sounds factory installed and import the midi file to my VST program which can be a standalone. I can change the sounds to the bank there.
