My Project crashed the program without much data in it

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I had saved the project with only one plug in and only a few notes there to test if it was working. When I opened one of the files in My Project, it crashed the program.

However, if I just load the plug-in without saving it under my project, the plug-in loads very fast. Why can I not save my project with a plug-in with it?
If anyone notices this, yeah I stole the idea from the Mixxx forum but atleast it can give us an idea how to troubleshoot

Please include the following information at minimum:
LMMS build file name you installed: (for example -lmms-1.1.3-win32.exe). (please post the EXACT file name as it tells us specifically what version you are running -- every part is significant!).
System Info (processor, RAM, graphics card, etc. -- provide as much or as little detail as you want)
Windows: version AND service pack -- right-click My Computer and hit Properties. Example: Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1
Windows: 32-bit or 64-bit?
Windows: LMMS 32-bit or 64-bit build? (i.e. which you downloaded above)
Windows: Did the installer succeed?
OSX: Version and Architecture (Intel vs. PPC)
Did LMMS crash on start-up? (If so, how, can you repeat it, what error messages, etc.)
Did LMMS crash after start-up? (If so, how, can you repeat it, what error messages, etc.)

If you don't know what to check for, try answering the following debugging questions:

Did WAV files load and play?
Did FLAC files load and play?
Did OGG files load and play?
Did Software waveforms work?
Any corruption / glitching?
I think slightly more specific questions might be helpful. E.g.

Does it still crash if you load the project using "Projects/Recently opened projects" at the top of the page ? And what plugin is it ?

Steve
xDD man, too slow for re-editing my post. My bad!
you use a vst-effect -yes? what happens is what i call the 'chunck-overload' -but i have already written longish around this several times - Eg, you are not the first one :p
Very short: The data that contain the dial-settings in the plugin, are erroneous saved and are enormous ! I mean HUGE
At the moment there is no solution to this issue
This affect ALL blueCat plugins! *sobs*

Project rescue:
https://lmms.io/documentation/Working_with_VSTs
section: "VST related problems"
My computer:
Windows Vista Home Edition Service Pack 1
Pentium Dual Cove E5300@2.6 GHz
3 GB RAM
32 bit operation system

LMMS installed: 1.1.3, 32 bit

Yes, installer succeeded! However, when I read the documentation and tried to follow the instruction to see what synth1 would do, I couldn't install it, because it said that the set up information was not found. It added that if I had the file reg2ini, ran it as administrator to execute it, which I DID. Nonetheless, still failed.

LMMS never crashes on start-up, but does each time for sure when I click on Projects/Recently Opened project! Although I did not use anything that's associated with VST plug-in, the project was saved with the plug-in there.

I had not used any waveform or midi yet. Thus, I was trying to see if I could as Mrfriendson suggested now by import a mid file, yet LMMS warned me that I did not have the specified plug-in which was not manufactured installed already. Anyhow, I just couldn't hear the sound, yet I could see that it was working. Also, I did save this midi file as a project. I closed the LMMS entirely and reopened it to see if I could open this project up. It did, yet it just said that the plug-in couldn't be loaded, which I understood. After all, I don't have the plug-in installed. So....... it seems that MY external VST plug-in in LMMS is the cause for crashing the program.....

I just saved a project successfully by using only the factory preset sound. I could export it successfully to a wav file too. BTW, how do I export a midi file. Because if my own external vst won't work with LMMS, I am thinking to create music in LMMS by using whatever the sounds factory installed and import the midi file to my VST program which can be a standalone. I can change the sounds to the bank there.
Im a little confused
Although I did not use anything that's associated with VST plug-in, the project was saved with the plug-in there.
So there is NO vst dll inside the crash-project? Only native lmms instruments, and effects?
now by import a mid file, yet LMMS warned me that I did not have the specified plug-in which was not manufactured installed already
lmms does not need any speciel plugin for midi-note playback -All instruments can be used
BTW, how do I export a midi file.
That feature is still not implemented, so you cant.

If i understand you, you have already rescued the project in full? But there is something wrong, when you try to save with one specific instrument??
Witch instrument is that?
Yes, I know. I easily make people confused

What I meant was that I did not add any data, note, or change any setting that associated with VST plug-in in LMMS, but I only loaded Aria Player plug-in in LMMS and saved one sounds from Aria Player into LMMS preset. That's all I did and saved it as a project. Then, it's never rescued but always crashed the program when I tried opening the project.

LMMS warned me that I did not have a "Soundfont," so it wouldn't play back. OK, now you said that LMMS does not need any special plugin for midi playback; I understand that. However, combining what you and LMMS said, I should have been able to hear all tracks, except that of the Soundfont. Any thought how it might have gone wrong without any sound playback at all???
loaded Aria Player plug-in in LMMS and saved one sounds from Aria Player into LMMS preset.
Oki! Aria i believe someone else had problems with, so its no good in lmms :/ sorry

Yes - at least i hope i remember this correctly.. You DO have notes imported right?
Eg inside song-editor, you have a block with all the midi-notes, like:
Image
Then just drag any instrument in at that track, notes should play..

(Here
http://www.schristiancollins.com/generaluser.php
is btw the soundfont most like as default soundfont)

Then, it's never rescued but always crashed the program when I tried opening the project.

Let me know if you fixed it :)

I dragged an internal instrument to replace the soundfont track. It does play back. :)

Yes, I temporarily move the dll file to somewhere else, it did rescue my project. Thanks
