Problems with bad latency

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I hope you will be able to help me.

I think that lmms is pretty awesome but since i installed a new linux distro in my pc (mint 19.3) I have problems with the audio.

Everything I play is distorted with strange noises; i've noticed on the audio settings that pulseaudio says bad latency but I'm not able to change it because even if changes are applied the audio interface always says "pulseaudio (bad latency!)".

Is this the cause of the distortion?

This last thing sounds rather odd
First thing :
Is your LMMS 1.2.1 AppImage and from LMMS.io?
If you have installed a version from your packman, LMMS will not work as good as our official AppImage
This is however only available as x64
https://lmms.io/download/#linux
Linux: In Edit| Settings| Misc -Disable 'Sync VST plugins to host playback'!!!
I hope that solves your issue.
If not, i would recommend a complete remove, and reinstall.. I do that because you write
even if changes are applied the audio interface always says "pulseaudio
I read this as you cant change to a different interface, fi. SDL, that works fine in Linux!
But you cant make that work -right?
Let us know the outcome :)
Thank you Musikbear for your help.

I have no longer the issue with the latest version, although it seems I cannot install it without app image.

I have opened a new topic about it.
