Redo Doesn't Work

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello,
So I made a new block on the Song Editor, wrote some melodies in the Piano Roll, and pressed undo until at the point before the block exist on the Song Editor. But then when I tried to undo the undo (aka redo), the block couldn't comeback! And so I lost the melodies I had wrote for more than one hour.
Please fix this. :(

No you have not lost your work, If you have used default settings and did install as default you have 2 backup-systems that can have saved your work!
Read this link below carefully, and do not open lmms before you have located the backup-files, and renamed them, as to not loos them by overwriting.

Thank you musikbear.

I have read the link, but my LMMS didn't crash. So option number 2 didn't show up for me. Then for the option number 1, I don't know if I have accidentally saved my project when exiting, but the main file and bak file look exactly the same as the last time I've left them, the block is gone.

Did you check the redo part musikbear? Did you try to recreate the problem? All of this shouldn't even happen if the redo button works as it should. How come the undo button can delete blocks in the Song Editor but the redo button can't bring them back.

I'm sorry if I sound a little bit mad, I hope you can understand my frustration. If I did something wrong, please just say it directly. I can't read all of the rules right now because of this problem.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost work, as that is always frustrating. The undo and redo functions in LMMS are unstable and as you've discovered, sometimes unusable. It's only been enabled for a few major stable releases now and the functionality is still being worked on. Moving forwards, I would suggest that you assume that they will not work the way you expect them to.

LMMS is developed by volunteers in their free time, at a generous cost of free. Unfortunately with a project like this, there will be issues that come with using it, this being one of them in this particular case.

Thank you, it's good to know that.

Yeah I guess I'll just keep that in mind.

Thanks again, Stakeout Punch.
