I’m having trouble with the piano role :: no e5 or a4 or any other chord types!
They are not chord-types, they are notes.
To make a chord, 2 or more notes must be pressed at the same time.
I have no idea how to understand about g4 or whatever if every key on the scale is labeled c something like c2 or c6.
You need a crash-course in
simple music-theory :)
Once all this also was confusing to me, but you need to work with things, before they get easy :)
All notes are not
all labelled 'c'
C-note on each octave are
default enhanced by a label.
All notes are not
default labelled. A lot of users would dislike that strongly! You need to select that option in your
Settings!
Edit| Settings| General-Settings
Here you find the option for labels on all notes as the 5. from bottom
Select that!
So now all your white piano-roll notes has a label:
C D E F G A B
The black notes are called sharps, they are named after the closest white-note under it : C#
Here you will find much more easy to follow tutorials on simple music-theory
