I wanted to ask how is the progress regarding LV2 because I'd like to start using LMMS because I think it works better for me, and in general I think it has a good editor that permits to experiment fast with arrangement and midi editing. In the branch lv2 I've seen that the last commits were in 2019. Is the development sill active regarding LV2?

Yes it is, but you can use lv2 plugins already.
You need to use Carla, and Carla-rack to embed the lv2 plugins.
Have to admit, that i have no practical insight, i have yet to try a lv2 plugin..
What specifically is the lv2-plugin you would like to use?

Full lv2 native support, will most likely be in 1.3, but there is no schedule
