Octave transpositions - up down

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I just discovered a really great use for LMMS - I may post details later on. LMMS seems better for this than some other DAWs.

What would also be of great interest is if tracks could be dynamically shifted up or down - perhaps by an octave or two either way.

Obviously it's possible to do it given maybe the work of a minute - for example switch to piano roll, then shift up or down, but that still takes time.

I'm thinking of a button or key combination fo dynamically shift the sound of any virtual instrument (or at least Soundfont instruments) up or down while music sections are looping.

Is this possible now? If not, it would be a great feature for the future. If not obvious why, I can explain later.
Actually one or two octave transpositions turns out to be quite easy by resetting the Base Note on the Soundfont instrument. It would be great if the range of transpositions could be greater. To get downwards transpositions the base note has to be moved upwards, and to get upward transpositions, the base note has to be moved down.

This gives quite a different "flavour" to some sounds, such as Saxophone. It is possible to have several diffrent Sounfont instruments, all playing at different pitches - a true cacophony - if one wants to try!

A single key would be even easier, but moving the little square on the instruments up and down on the keyboards is really quite quick.

Try it!
