Capacity of computer not to crash LMMS

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
My current computer cannot accommodate external plug-in but crashes every time upon loading. I am thinking of getting a new laptop computer, namely Macbook. I have no idea which is better for music programs or at least better handles LMMS and the external plugin better without crashing. Which is better:2.7GHz or 2.9GHz dual‑core Intel Core i5 or 3.1GHz dual‑core Intel Core i7 processor?

Thanks
I only have an Core i3, Core i5, i7 are for serious computational needs and LMMS has proven itself to play nicely with even older CPUs. If I may say,
an i3, 8GB of RAM and 1TB should suffice, doesn't matter what the brand is as long as LMMS can run (but you can ask me for a specific build in another topic)

TS;DR:
Intel Core i3 5xxx 5th-Gen Broadwell CPU with 2 or more cores/threads (OR AMD A10-7850K if you're also into gaming)
8GB of RAM has become the standard now, be good to yourself and never settle for less.
1TB of storage, a 7200RPM traditional hard disk drive (or 128/256GB SSD if you have extra and see LMMS fly!)
A decent soundcard or audio interface.

hope this helps.. (don't break the bank making free music!)
CPU speed seems to be the most important factor when it comes to audio signal processing. Get the fastest one that you can afford.
@chueh easy does it : what do you have now?
I am surprised if lmms post 1.0 wont run for you, it is really lean.
Post your hw specs, and lets see if we can spot a bottleneck
Thanks all.

Currently, I have a Pentium Dual Core E5300 @2.60 GHZ, 3 GB RAM, 32 bit operation system. I tried loading Aria Player as a plug-in, yet LMMS always crashed. Musicbear mentioned that Aria Player was an advanced VST. I guess the more advanced it is, the longer the loading time is needed.

OK, so 8GB RAM with Core i3 should be fine. Is CPU translated to GHZ?
CPU speed is translated into GHz or MHz (if you are old-hat)
I currently have an i3-4030U with 4 logical cores and 2 threads @1.90GHz.
LMMS is running fine even when I load advanced VSTis
like Massive, Serum, Sylenth1, Kontakt, Reaktor, and Spire. <-------------------------------------- Pirate!!!

Due to personal preference and poverty I suggest and FM2+ build (If you're rich then go buy a MacBook Pro and Logic Pro X! loljk)
We'll go with a Gigabyte board, a GA-G1. Sniper A88X, it's really affordable and feature packed with excellent sound for about $85 on Newegg.
AMD's APUs are known for their decent gaming performance, if the A6-6400K can run DotA 2 at 60FPS on medium/high settings, imagine LMMS.
I'd go with the A10-7850K because of the AMD TrueAudio DSP on the built-in GPU which goes hand in hand with the built-in motherboard audio.

TL:DR; the epic $413 LMMS Workstation xDD as of May 7. 2015
You can even save more money by reusing or recycling your old HDD, PSU, and Case which will save you around 26% off or $108!

APU: Take your pick from A6 ~ A10 (but I'd rather get the 7850K..)

you have about the same as i, except you got 1 gb more ram
There is absolutely no reason you should not be able to run current 1.1.3 win32 on that pc. There must be something else, that creates problems
Have you made a directx test?
What win ver do you use?
MrFriendSon, thanks so much for all the info you've given. That's fantastic!

Musicbear, I had uninstalled many unused programs, cleaned, and deleted as much as possible junk from my computer before I installed LMMS and Aria Player. For some reason, the computer still shows "60% free," as before. I heard that in order to run all programs properly, I would need at least 80% or higher free space. BTW, what's a directx test? Do I have it already in the system?
DirectX is a testing suite in Windows to test key functionality like video, audio, 3D and networking.
You may run it by following this sequence: Windows + R>cmd>dxdiag
You may also download CPU-Z (preferably the Republic of Gamers ROG Edition) to identify key components like motherboard, RAM and CPU

As well as a good freeware app from the makers of CCleaner, Speccy http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download/standard
Thanks MrFriendSon. I ran the directx test, following the directory you provided. I am not sure if it did any test or not, but there was only a little bar across within a very short period of time. It says "no problem found" in the "Notes" box.

I periodaically run CCleaner and defragment as well, so I don't know what else could be interfering the program??
