I am running Windows 10, with LMMS version 1.2.2.
I have followed several tutorials and looked at many different forum posts for similar problems, but i cannot figure out what is wrong.
I have tried the piano VST recommended to others, and not even that works. Nothing that I install works. I put it in the folder i designated as my VST folder, I try to open it through Vestige, and nothing happens.
It doesn't freeze, error, or crash. It just does nothing and continues saying, "No vst-plugin loaded".
I hate to open another topic that has been covered before, but I have been through all of those and nothing works.
I have even uninstalled LMMS and reinstalled it with admin privileges to no avail.

If it helps at all, under the "My Samples" tab there is a folder named VSTPlugins which I created to keep all VST's in (located in documents, and LMMS is told to look there for VSTs), under that folder it reads the VST's are there but it refuses to open them.
Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully I missed something that is easily fixable, but I cannot find what's wrong for the life of me.

I followed the video in the link, just to make double-sure and it still did not work. It just says there is no VST instrument loaded, just as if I never hit open.
I forgot to mention my machine is a 64 bit computer if that makes any difference, but I did make sure I am using all 64 bit versions.

Ooo.. Odd..
You already tried re-installing, so that option is of table..
There is a quite different way to get a VST into LMMS. I dont like it in particular, because it is a drag-and-drop method, and in pre-historic-lmms, that was an absolute 100% certain guaranteed CRASH!
But here i like to try it :)
First, make sure you know what folder mda Piano.dll is placed in.
In LMMS Open piano-roll
then, from side bar choose My-computer
Browse through My-computer to the the folder with mda Piano.dll
Drag the dll.file into piano-roll, and drop it
That will ..should open a new VST-instrument-stub, with mda-piano

Can you do that ?
Does it play ?

Unfortunately it does not let me drop it anywhere on the piano roll. It just shows a red circle with a line through it and nothing happens when I drop it.

This is a freshly reset computer with a new SSD drive. Are there audio drivers or anything else I might be missing?

The program is acting like .dll files are there, but don't contain any data. It displays the files in its file browser, but will not interact with them.
Is there a driver that might be missing that would prevent my computer from opening .dll files?

It is in SONG-EDITOR you must drop the dll! -And in the area of the instrument-buttons:

😬¨It must be windows..
Something is wrong
Are you logged in as Admin
Do you have a legit win10?
Have you checked your windows for errors/ conflicts
Have you done a test of DirectX
I would like to see your config dot-file:

The windows version is legit, I just installed it a day before installing LMMS.
Pretty sure I am logged in as admin.
I can get you the file when I have better internet sometime tomorrow, (currently typing from a phone).

How do I test DirectX? That sounds promising.
