Beat/Bassline Resolution

This might be a silly question but I've never been able to track this down. I'm trying to increase the resolution in the b/b editor. I've tried adding steps, but that just makes the loop longer. I'd like to add steps but keep the same overall length, so as to have , for example, hi-hats in 32nd or 64ths. Am I completely overlooking something?

Well you can always add the steps and then just double the tempo/BPM (i.e. set 200 if you want 100) but that affects everything not just beat/bassline.

You can also open the piano roll for that instrument and put the notes in with any resolution you feel like. That's the only way I've seen to get triplets etc. in.

If there's a cleverer way to do it we'll have to wait for someone who knows more than me ;).

what i do, is to split everything in the smallest possible parts
I like to think of this as the 'Lego-principle' or 'atomic-assembly'

You can do everything with single-events, conglomerates can only restrain you!

So the solution to a hat in the 64 step of a drum pattern is to have a hat in step 16, and just add it in 64' *relative* position, in pianoroll :)

That's clever, but it looks like a big pain.

Thanks fellas. I kinda figured that going into piano roll was going to be the only way to do it. Looks like I have a submission for the Wish List forum.
