Problem loading VSTs

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I have been using EastWest's Play VST for several months now, but it suddenly does not load at all. I attempt to load it through Vestige, and recieve the popup at the bottom left saying "Loading plugin." Only a few seconds later, the box disappears having not loaded anything, and with Vestige still showing "No VST-Plugin loaded." I have attempted to uninstall and reinstall both the plugin and LMMS to no avail. There has not been an LMMS update recently so I do not believe that support could have been lost.

Additionally, today when I opened LMMS I was greeted with the settings menu before the program even opened, leading me to presume that the file was missing or corrupted. I do not know if this is related.

It is worth noting that I have recently performed both a system restore, and a Windows update.

I run LMMS version 1.2.2 on Windows 10.
Memory: 16GB RAM
Processor: AMD RYZEN 7 2700x 3.70GHz
Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio

As a final note this seems in my opinion to be similar to a problem a few users had a few months back that was related to the .lmmsrc.xml file (given that something was wrong with mine, though I'm not sure what), which I will link back to here:viewtopic.php?f=7&t=32642
I have tried that fix out of desperation(despite it being for a different version of LMMS) and gotten nowhere.

Thank you to anyone who could assist with this.

First off, Welcome to the Forum Kalin22 !

-A few rules and useful forum instructions
If you like to introduce yourself, to the community, go here:

And you are very correct:
recently performed both a system restore, and a Windows update.
That is the reason, and it is indeed your .lmmsrc.xml
My guess is that your restore meant a change in a folder-structure, and that will not work.
Try this
(re)move the config dot-file:
https://lmms.io/wiki/index.php?title=LM ... h_Settings

Then you should get a new settings dialogue when you open lmms again. Browse to the correct folders, and select them. then save your settings
This ought to be sufficient, unless you have been with us for a looooong time, then some older projects (0.08x) could have hardcoded paths, and they wont do..
Let us know the outcome :)
Everything is working now, thanks so much for your help!
