VST plugin loads in instrument track, doesnt produce effect

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
ver. 1.2.2

i had a similar problem with this relating to a soundfont a year or so ago, but now its a full on VST plugin.

I was exporting a project to mp3 when lmms wasnt responding, so i reopened the project (which since it crashed, prompted me to open the recovery project and save it) and exported from there. however, as i was listening to the output, it didnt export an effect on a track.

The VST i was using is dblue glitch, on a vst instrument track. it had worked fine for the past few months i had used it, but after lmms crashed that one time, wont work anymore. it loads in perfectly and even shows the interface of the plugin mixer, but wont play any sound from the plugin itself. i tried it on different instrument tracks, different instrument types, and even on the overall mixer rather than just the instrument, and still nothing. i redownloaded and reloaded the vst as well, but still wont work.

i even tried to follow a guide on how to reset the settings of lmms, but the vst still wont work even after that. i know theres nothing wrong with the vst itself. as mentioned earlier, i had this similar problem with a soundfont about a year ago, in which the soundfonts file isnt wrong but lmms just stopped reading all of a sudden, even when redownloading the software and using different computers. i have multiple projects that rely on dblue glitch, so i really need to fix this problem.
update: i restarted my computer and it works again. whats strange is that restarting didnt help with the soundfont problem a year ago, so i dont kno what happened there
Was the restart that fixed the problem the first time the computer had been rebooted since the issue appeared?

While I am just theorizing here, it makes me wonder if one of the VST worker threads that lmms generates did not get terminated properly due to the crash. Restarting would have dealt with it, but if this happens again and you are comfortable in the processes tab of task manager (this assumes windows) look for remote VST plugin processes and terminate them.

What Stakeout Punch » said i agree to fullhearted, but with one addition: Dont sleep your computer overnight. Turn it down, and pull the plug (for safety if thunder occur).
Over time a whole lot of garbage pile up in ram, and you really should flush that daily -Also stand by is a power-hog, and you should think 'green' about that to!
Only 'legit' reason for not shutting down, is if you run a server, and they also have to step out now and then :P
