Shaping instruments without Envelope feature

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Greetings,

could someone advise please how to shape volume of individual notes in an accord for ZynAddSubFX instruments? For example, I have the following track, with overlapping notes, that need to be individually shaped (e.g. some notes have fade-in, others have fade-out, etc.):

___XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX_____________________
_________XXXXXXXXXXXX____________________
__________________XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX_____

The instrument is "Presets/ZynAddSubFX/Synth/0005-Pul Pad 2.xiz". This instrument doesn't have "Envelope" feature, and in automation track I see only the way to shape the volume of the whole track, not individual notes. Can this task (shaping the volume of individual notes in a track) somehow be done with LMMS?

Thanks.
ZASFX has very comprehensive envelope controls but they're not available from what it calls the "Beginner Mode" GUI.

You can get at the ADSR envelope controls by going into Advanced mode (Misc/Switch User Interface Mode) then selecting Edit Instrument. You'll see that ADSynth is enabled, select Edit and you have full set of (complex) controls to play with.

But fiddling with ZASFX in that mode is not for the faint-hearted. There's a manual available at http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/zynaddsubfx_manual but it's not easy to wade through. If you do get the sound sorted to your satisfaction don't forget to save it under a new name (Instrument/Save Instrument on the first Advanced Mode screen).

Good luck - Steve

I can only add, that i have made some ~10+ tutorials on zasfx. You can find them on my yT channel
