touchpad as input (piano roll - continuum like)

Hello,
How about letting touchpads be used as piano roll input ?
horizontal motion -> note range
vertical motion -> volume
A bit like a continuum emulator
It probably requires a lot of work to develop but wow, what a nice feature i believe !!
It could then be also used for FX/effects modulation / automation (eg vertical->intensity horizontal->main parameter)
