Loading a theme

I am having problems getting any theme to load.
Clearly I am not doing something right and the info on Wiki tutorial is no use, tried that.
Can someone give me a detailed step by step please.

where did you get this theme from?
Only a few themes support newest release
(you have version and OS ???)
The wiki explain it correct afaik..

The name of my theme is darknight.tar.gz downloaded from this site.
I am running Windows 8 - 64 bit
I am running lmms-1.1.3-win.64.exe

I created a path to the "Theme" folder and placed the file darknight.tar.gz in that folder.
I created the path in 2 places under Edit-Settings-Path
1.BACKROUND ARTWORK - C:/Program Files/LMMS\data\themes\darknight.tar.gz\
2.ARTWORK DIRECTORY - C:/Program Files/LMMS\data\themes\darknight.tar.gz\ - EVEN THOUGH i CLICK "OK" HERE IT DOES NOT SAVE IT , IT JUST REVERTS TO THE ORIGINAL PATH - C:/Program Files/LMMS\data\themes/default/\

what you could do was to use the new theme as default..
Then you do like so..
Copy current default theme-folder to a safe place -You need this to revert to default theme at a later time!
Unpack the downloaded theme
Replace everything in the LMMS|\data\themes | default
with everything in pack
Then retry
What i expect to happen is that you will use the new theme as the new default, but if it fails, then you need to copy the safety-copy back, and overwrite the 'hacked' default folder, so make sure you have made that default safety-copy!
