Whenever I try to load a specific project LMMS gives me this message and crashes. I'm able to load and save other projects just fine; it's only one project that gives me this problem. I tried restarting, then re-installing LMMS, neither worked. I've verified that RemoteVstPlugin32.exe is present in the install, along with the following .dll's, if that matters: libwinpthread-1.dll , QtCore4.dll , zlib1.dll
I'm using the 64-bit windows version of the program, and the only VST I'm using in the project is EasyQ (http://www.rs-met.com/freebies.html) if that helps. Although I did at one point load Synth1 (http://www.kvraudio.com/product/synth1-by-ichiro-toda) into the project, if I recall correctly I think I deleted that instrument. (can't say for sure, obviously, since I can't open it...)

easyQ works great with lmms, unless you actually has a different release ?
The easyQ i know works on lmms is named EasyQ.dll
I believe there has been some other with a v for version and a code.. not sure

Synth1 is not the reason either
But the solution is still simple
Move all the dlls that you suspect out of the path you set in lmms, then reload the project. You will just get a msg 'dll not found' and the project will load
Then you can remove the faulty dll, and reinsert the moved dll's in your path

(if you never restart the pc, but only uses 'sleep' you waste power :p but you also accumulate 'dirt', that could be a reason too, btw

It worked, sort of. I removed the dlls and was able to load the project; it gave me the message "EasyQ.dll could not be loaded for some reason". Then I removed all the instances of EasyQ from the project and was able to replace the dlls, save the file, and load it again without trouble. So now I can open and edit the project just fine, but as soon as I put EasyQ back in and save it's messed up again. Also, I've discovered that other projects also crash if I put EasyQ on more than just a couple instruments. Do I have a faulty install or is that just a limitation of the VST?

What are your hw-specs? Are you low on ram?
Another graphic eq that also works in lmms is the Nyquist-eq
I believed i have added it to 'tested' .. but that not true :/
