Realtek ASIO not working with LMMS

Hello people, just asking why on earth my realtek ASIO driver won't work with LMMS, yet it works fine with another audio program I use? I would rather use this over ASIO4ALL; I also tried WDM-KS, but that has the same result; starting LMMS gives me the audio settings dialog again!
I am NOT using SDL as a solution, as that has too much latency. ASIO4ALL is too laggy/glitchy on the machine I'm trying to use it on, so avoiding this where possible is my only way to go.
