Is there a way to export to midi with the correct patches? Id est, so every instrument doesn't just become "001 - Grand Piano"?
PS:
Is anyone else having the issue of LMMS crashing out of nowhere?

No, can't be done afaik (someone correct me if i'm wrong).
the closest you can do is save a MIDI file and set the patches later in a MIDI editor (like BRELS).

There is, but you need to save the SF2 player
specific as a LMMS preset, eg use the save-button on the UI. and those saved presets, should
then be used in the project
LMMS-presets saves everything.

No that is not a general issues afaik. Is it in
any project, or some specific?

No, it just happens out of the blue with little rhyme or reason.
Would be nice if LMMS atleast included some kind of failsafe systen that keeps an emergency backup of an unsaved file in the case of irregular close out or program crash.

it DOES do that. See C:/Users/%username%/Documents/lmms/recover.mmp
Go to edit > Settings to modify how OFTEN you want an autosave.

That is very strange.
You have not yet told us:
your
Operative System (Windows/ Linux/ Mac) And subtype (Home' 'Mint' '10.13' aso)
* lmms
version, and the
site where you got it from
* lmms
sound device chosen
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
Would be nice if LMMS atleast included some kind of failsafe systen that keeps an emergency backup of an unsaved file in the case of irregular close out or program crash.
LMMs has as Monospace says that failsafe, but we actually have TWO backups!
Recover is one and Backup is the second one
