I'm trying to do this to save space and complication. Does anyone know how to do this? I would be very thankful.

Sorry, there are no feature for that. You will need as may SF2-playes as you have tracks/ patches.

Can be done. Ctrl-drag the patch number to automation editor. See this video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z07Nd6 ... sp=sharing
It's how MIDI files work, in fact. Everything's at 0, and automation SETS the patch to whatever it's supposed to be.
To do the drag thing, press ctrl and pull the "Patch" number to automation editor.
To do it with banks, drag bank number too.
Be careful though. You are trying to save space and complication, but you could make your track more complicated if you're not careful. In Project-notes, I recommend keeping track of what changes to what and where.
