It almost works 100%.

When I start a new project and insert the SF player it looks like no soundfont is assigned.
When I click the purple button it shows the gm file and I can select it.

Also when I import a midi file, I have the same problem it says I don't have a soundfontfile assigned. wtf ? .

I am 99% sure I have.

Edit user error.

I confused two folders. The default sound font file folder and the sf2 folder.

Now I have a question though.
What is that sf2 player folder for ?

You have to set default soundfont in Edit> Settings.
See, SF2 folder is a folder with all your SF2s.

The "Default soundfont file" isn't a folder, it's a file that is a GM/GS soundfont.
You have to set "Default soundfont file" to your soundfont itself, and "SF2 folder" to the folder with ALL your soundfonts.
