How to play same sequence on multiple instruments?

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.

In the link, it says "You can already sort of do this (link multiple instruments and use them in only one piano roll / bassline) by daisy-chaining the instrument tracks together via MIDI input/output."
How do I go about "daisy-chaining the instrument tracks via MIDI input/output"? How does this work?

I found this https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/ar ... idi-setup/#
But how to set that up in lmms....
Our MIDI features are meek..😣
I do not know if this answers your question, but I am assuming you use midi out from one instrument to midi in on another instrument.
Gps, how do you use midiOut from one in MidiIn from other?
I tried and failed.

I thought it would be as simple as connecting midi out from one instrument, to midi in of another instrument.

I can't get it to work though. :(
MIDI-routing is something that evades me completely. I have NO understanding of it at all, but i believe that LMMS only support MIDI-in, as in signals from a MIDI-device can be recognised by LMMS and create a note-play-event in an instrument, but that event cant be 'outed' to anything afaik
Well I am not a midi expert, but I know that a Yamaha DX 7 for example, has 3 midi connections.

Midi in, midi out, midi through.

The instruments in LMMS, seem to have midi in and midi out. But the midi out in LMMS does not seem to do what I thought it would as in daisy chaining.

Should we ask on github, what that midi out part is for and or is meant to do ?

Apparently it might work with a MIDI keyboard to run out/in through? But not sure.
Possible, but most midi keyboards (or all ? ) don't make any sound.

They are made to be connected to a Sythesizer or an MIDI sound module. ( or a pc )

Its possible that the midi out of the LMMS instruments is also for hooking up a sythn or a midi sound module.

A midi sound module is like a hardware version of what we use in LMMS as a soudfont.

MIDI:

Atari ST with Cubase, notice that thing standing on his side besides the monitor:
Roland SoundCanvas SC-88

That's a midi sound module and is the thing that creates the sound. The Atari ST does not make any sound, it only sends midi data.

Now realize how lucky we are to have LMMS ;)
