I want to export the bass and drum pattern I made in LMMS as a wav-file, but the exported wav-file just contains empty tracks (no sound). I am using Linux Mint. What could be the reason?

The reason could be that you export a silenced part of your project.
"No sound" does not mean 'empty', if it is empty, then its 0 bytes
Is it?
LMMS has a feature where you only export between loop-markers, use that and set the loop in song-editor so it contain the part you want to export, then your file will contain the Beat&Bass-line you want.
