The 3rd song from Averjence Night Drive EP.
"The song that was supposed to be chillwave, despite me not knowing what chillwave was.
The basis of this song was the drives I used to go on, on a friday night after listening to all the new uploads on my soundcloud stream, spending all my money on itunes, liked youtube songs and bandcamp, importing them too my phone before heading out to pizza hut and maccas and going for a drive whilst listening to all these new songs. (Which is actually the basis for the whole NIGHT DRIVE ep now that I think of it) At the start of the drive, I'd always end up at Razorback which looks out over all of sydney (and is also the background video), hence the title of the track. Originally many tracks in the EP had names from the places I would go to but i condensed that idea into the first track of the EP 'Sydney'
I can't remember what sample or sound or synth I was using when I first started on the song, but I remember playing around on the piano roll and decided to hear how the sample sounded up higher on the piano roll, I fell in love with the high pitched drone-ish sound that came through my headphones and decided it would be the main sound throughout the song. This song was the first song completed on the EP (after the Night Drive 2020 upload cancel) and originally didnt have a reese bass. It was only untill recently I discovered how good deep reese basses sound on chill tracks and decided to test it out on this track and I love it. So happy to put this one out
