Hotkey Help

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello! I've been using LMMS for a few years now and haven't really interacted with the community much. I was wondering if there are any hotkeys for simple and repetitive operations that can speed up my workflow.
E.g.,
  • a hotkey that selects all the notes in a highlighted key while in the piano roll
  • a hotkey that switches between piano rolls of instruments above or below the current one, or switching back and forth between piano rolls of adjacent segments in the same instrument.
  • a hotkey for putting instruments in their own mixer track,
  • etc...
The online documentation suggests LMMS doesn't have any such feature but I figured I might as well ask. If it truly is not a feature in LMMS, does anyone have suggestions that will give me similar functionality? Thank you!
For switching between TCO's in the same instrument track, the hotkey is Alt-left and Alt-right. The logic for ordering is a little broken though, and you may get unusual results in some cases.
For the rest, there is no hotkey that I know of.
When you say "etc" what do you mean? You'll have to specify what functions' hotkeys you look for.

Oh, thank you! I assume the reason that isn't in the documentation is because it's buggy but that's really useful to know.

Fair enough. A more comprehensive list then.
  • hotkey for highlighting all notes in a selected key (select keys/modes from a drop down => right click on a key on the piano => highlight all notes in selected key)
  • for duplicating notes in the piano roll onto the end of the phrase (shift+click-drag or ctrl+c => ctrl+v => ctrl+left repeat until you reach where you want to put it)
  • for duplicating segments in the song editor onto the next segment (ctrl+click-drag)
  • to delete all segments that are highlighted in the song editor (middle-clicking every segment)
  • for duplicating an instrument already in the song editor but without any of the notes ( click gear icon => duplicate instrument => click gear icon on duplicated instrument => clear all notes)
  • for deleting an instrument (click gear icon => delete)
There are more that come to mind but those--and the three I mentioned in the earlier post--are probably the ones that take the most amount of my time. Once again, thank you for your quick response!

No, it's just not in the documentation. The documentation's old and some hotkeys aren't put in. Not many people use it. The bug was reported only recently.

I'm very sorry, but if there are hotkeys for these actions I don't know them. I'll look around, though, if I find anything that could help you.
But check out https://github.com/LMMS/lmms/issues/1488
Not all of them work, but it does list at least existing shortcuts properly. It might have some of what you're looking for.

Thank you very much! Some of these do work already which makes me quite pleased. I'm still somewhat disappointed that the hotkey proposals for the most time-consuming operations haven't been implemented yet but I'll take what I've gotten so far. It's better than nothing after all.

a lot and it is in documentation!

I suppose I should have been more clear. I started this thread asking about hotkeys that are not in the documentation and are possibly not even implemented into LMMS yet. Monospace gave an example of useful hotkeys that aren't in the documentation while the rest are simply not in the app yet. I've checked the github page after Monospace suggested I take a look and have found multiple instances of my feature requests/hotkey functionality already requested by earlier users. I did do my due diligence in making sure I'm not asking things that have already been asked as well, searching the forums for mentions of hotkeys and such.

I also did my due diligence on this front as well. I've reviewed the rules and introduced myself in the introduction thread several hours ago.
