Splitting Midi tracks or segments into two or more parts.

I've just realised that I don't know how to split a Midi track into parts.

I don't mean separating out groups of notes - for example high low notes.

I mean basically selecting (say) the first 4.35 seconds of a Midi track, then doing an edit cut there, to produce two segments which can be manipulated separately - lets call these Left and Right.

Also using a further operation it should be possible to cut out a section of a midi track.

I'm assuming this is easy. Pointers to how to do this would be much appreciated.

There is no way to do this other than manually Ctrl-X'ing the part you want in the Right segment, and Ctrl-V'ing it into a new separate segment.
