Sound directory help

Anything that doesn't fit into other topics goes here!
Hi, I'm going to try and be as precise and to the point as I can be.

I started producing on lmms about 2 years ago and at the time did not consider how much space sounds and samples can take up, I saved all of my sounds and packs I've accumulated in my documents folder. Now I've reached the limit of my C: Drive's space and I've purchased a hard drive and am planning to move all my sounds into there.

Problem is, I have countless beats I am working on that aren't exported and since lmms uses the file location to load the files, if I migrate all my sounds, lmms won't be able to find them? I'm wondering if there is any way to tell lmms to load sounds from a specified folder, or if I either have to compile and export everything and chop the rest up as a loss, or manually re-locate all of the files after i do the move and do it that way.

Thank you for taking your time to read this, and even more if you're taking the time to help out.

And yes, LMMS wont (yet) find your files if you move them, but you can trick any program to use a different folder that it is connected to:
Use Sym-links
That is for windows, but something similar exists in Linux afaik
A symlink points to a different folder from the folder that the program is linked to
Read about hoe to make symlinks and what you should be careful about
