How to solve volume and pitch being linked?

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Sorry for the noob question! I understand that higher pitches are percieved as louder by our ears but I can't get to the bottom of how to work around this fact Speed Test https://vidmate.bid/ .

Is it a case of adding eq to every instrument as you go? I've tried doing this a bit, but even with very extreme eq I can't seem to level out the volume to where it sounds normal.

Frustratingly I found a post from like 5 years ago talking about this problem and the OP says they solved it in the settings but doesn't say which settings!!!

Sorry for the noob question!
We do not regard anything as that : )
The thing about pitch - volume being linked is not correct unless the low end is extreme and the high is not. If we turn that around -high end is extreme and the low is not, then the human ear would again not 'hear' the high-end, so higher Hz are not easier to hear, it is all about capacity versus extremes.

The real issue is this:
I can't seem to level out the volume to where it sounds normal.
You have issues making all frequencies in your mix audible, and that is a common issue, the reason is 'frequency-fighting' witch is when one instrument muffles an other because they interfere with each others frequency-output
Firstly
Allocate all instrument-tracks to own mixer channels!
In Mixing, The tool to use is Equalizers
Use EQ in your mixer-channels as you mix, when one instrument cancels one or several other instruments outputs, often it is very subtle changes that can change a muffled mix to a clean bright mix.
You also need to go through your percussion!
Especially highhats can make significant spikes in high Hz-area, and they often need to be filtered out
You also need to examine your amount of resonance. Reso are often making severe spikes and must be filtered!
solved it in the settings
My guess is that OP meant settings of an EQ, there is nothing in LMMS-Settings that can take care on an inferior mix.
