Vista problems

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I just downloaded and installed LMMS, on two computers, one running XP, and one running Vista. On the XP machine the software works sort of, plays sample tracks fine then if I want to play a different track, the program crashes.
Now on the Vista machine I have no audio, the first window that pops up is the one that asks you to select an audio card/system etc. Then a note pops up that the settings will go into effect the next you start the program. The program then starts and runs, but with no audio. So when I restart the program we go though the same stuff again, and again. Any ideas?

Do you have the latest version (0.4.12) 32bits?
Many lmms-users run xp, and everything works out of the box. If your xp is original and undammed (run diagnose on your installation) you should definately be able to run lmms without any isues at all.
One thing - i have only expirience with xp running servicepack2 (sp) / sp3. If your xp is without sp, then that could be an isue.

..Vista :/
lmms do works with vista, but that is not the same as to say that lmms works with any vista. The driver circus that is vista, makes it imposible to explain the what and the not, in respect to vista-isuses.
Vista + non-windows-software = problems
eg Vista sucks

I will try to do a reinstall on the XP machine, it did work once. Don't know how to run diagnose on the install, maybe I should dual boot with my ubuntu distro.
