Might you/we/I have a page section for uploading information on compatible hardware for linux systems akin to that used by QubesOS? A simplified version of this:

https://www.qubes-os.org/hcl/

At a minimum something like:

Distribution: eg Fedora 37
LMMS Version: eg 1.2.1 appimage/repo/
Hardware Tested:
eg Roland TR-08 / works/doesn't work/partial/workaround
eg Arturia KeyStep /works/doesn't work/partial/workaround

No there is no tests of various HW. LMMS is free and compatibility test for distros peripheral HW soundcards etc is not possible.
What you can do is to ask specific questions for specific HW, and hope that someone else has similar setup as yourself, and can give you the reassurance you need.
We do have a ~ 4 y old list of MIDI keyboards that was tested and reported in by the community, it was not included in the current WIKI because all MIDI KB connected through USB simply works with LMMS 1.2 and newer.
I have it 'somewhere', but its not updated for those 3-4 years.
If you like i can find and post it..

Thanks for the reply. That is what I was getting at. The Qubes list is uploaded by the users as each is likely using a relatively unique combination of hardware. But it is formatted and presented in a standardised way for legibility.

REAPER has released a native linux version DAW. I am finding it a virtually flawless beta. Obvious concerns would be compatible interfaces
