Hi everyone.
I am running LMMS on a 64 bit linux mint 17 Qiana OS, and am a new – and very clueless – user of the Linux operating system. Previously, when going to 'instrument plugins' the 'VeSTige' plugin was not available. Late last night (rather carelessly, I am ashamed to say!) I searched around for an answer and came across this
http://nickhumphreyit.blogspot.co.uk/20 ... -lmms.html
Which led me to try
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:irie/lmms
and then
sudo apt-get update
It actually worked, and VeSTige now shows up in my LMMS. But it seems to have caused some other problems. For example, the 'scratch01.ogg' and 'windchimes.ogg' samples (and some others, but I won't list them all) no longer make a sound when added, or clicked. I can still add them to a beatmaker, and, when I press play, the green light to the left of volume still flashes, but they no longer make a sound. LMMS also seems to completely cut down intermittently now, whereas I had no problems before.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but I still have the same issue.
Interestingly, when I reinstall, even before installing the 'lmms-vst-full:i386' files from the software manager (which I just found and I guess I should have just done In the first place!), VeSTige still seems to be there. I wonder if I have somehow installed another version of LMMS elsewhere, which is interacting with the new version and crashing?
On the aforementioned website it does say
“NOTE: the irie/lmms PPA will install lmms version 0.4.13!”
Furthermore, it was instructions for ubuntu, so I'm wondering if I have also installed some ubuntu related files that are interacting negatively as well.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
